Milena Govich

 

Milena Govich (Serbian born October 29, 1976) is an American actor, director, singer, dancer, and musician who is best known for her character NYPD Detective Nina Cassady on the television series Law & Order.



 



 Education and early life



 Govich was born Norman, Cleveland County in Oklahoma. Dr. Bruce Michael Govich (who died in 1998) as well as Dr. Marilyn Green Govich [2was a professor of music. Marilyn teaches voice at University of Central Oklahoma, while Bruce was employed at the University of Oklahoma. Her mother is English-speaking and her father is Serbian. Milica Govich is Milica's aunt and has been on TV, in films as well as Broadway.



 



 Milena was the class valedictorian at Norman High School in 1995. As a child of academic parents, she graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1995 as valedictorian. She earned a double-degree in both performance and premedical studies, and an additional minor in violin and dance. Govich moved to New York City after graduation to pursue a acting career.
